Hi Do you know when Mr Gimber died? That could narrow down your search. Maureen |

There doesn't seem to be much point looking for him on censuses if his wife died in 1980, does there? He could well have been born after 1901. The best way to find his death is just to search through the indexes quarter by quarter, working backwards from when his 'widow' died. Could be a long slog, but you should find him eventually. Kate. |

As already advised, the only way to find it is to systematically search the records on Ancestry..........viewing images quarter by quarter until you find it. Having said that..........how will you know which is the one you need? Do you have any clue about when he was born? Reg |

In the long search for my Grandmother ( Maud Julletta Gimber nee Hammond or Hammell) I have found that she when died (1980) her name was Trice and not Gimber (the name I had been looking for) on her death cert it stats she was the widow of Samuel Charles Trice, however I cant find a marriage for them and believe they were not realy husband and wife. i thought if i could find Samuel death cert it might give me more info.... I have been told she only took that name to be able to get a house..... long and complcated story... |

You must have some other info - an idea of how old he was or other family?? Or when he was last believed to be alive? But all the ways of finding a death after 1910 and before 1984 are tricky. Either a slog through the GRO indexes, quarter by quarter, year by year, or a trawl through the burial or cremation records for likely cemeteries, churchyards, crematoria. |
