Kate dickinson/dixon age on marriage certificate is given as 19 in 1875 living on bath street, Sheffield. Father is james dickinson (deceased) a joiner. on the 1891 census she is down as being aged 41but on the 1901 census she is down as 44....both say born in sheffield. regards jess

Having trouble finding Kate prior to marriage, what was Joseph's age and what was his father called?

yes that's the marriage received the certificate this morning have all info regarding the Earnshaw's just not the dickinson's....on their daughter fanny's birth she is down as dixon

On the daughters birth certificate, who informed? Was it Kate? Did she sign or make her mark? The registrar could have misheard the name and if Kate/informant could not read/write would not know of the mistake.

haven't got the certificates on me at present as am using a friends pc but im sure on the marriage certificate it's the mark of kate dickinson

Jess, I'm sorry but I think I am going to have to admit defeat on Kate/Catherine, I just cannot find any trace of her, she just does not seem to exist! I have checked the full BMD for 1857, no trace of a Kate/Catherine Dickinson/Dixon anywhere. I cannot find any trace of her on the 61 census, again no Kate/Catherine with Father James anywhere.
