I am currently at a dead end in my family tree as I have discovered my family originated from Ireland at some point after the potato famine. As Ireland's records are not available on-line I am struggling to get any information. If there is a kind person who lives in Ireland and regularly visits the records office I would be grateful for any help you can give me. Surnames I am looking to search are: Connolly (not sure which part) Slaven (from Co. Monaghan) McMullan (not sure which part) Thank you to anyone who can be of assistance. |

Hello Sherree. Have you carefully checked all the census images? I have found with some Irish ancestors that they have given the county, and on some censuses have given the parish. Have they got relatives living very near, or in the household? and where do these people come from? They usually went to an area where relatives and friends were. Hence people from Mayo/Galway border were often living near to each other, and inter-related. Hope this helps. If you e mail you with names, dates, I will look on censuses for you. |
