Find Ancestors

Please help locate where Kate Knowles was in the 1901 Census. She was born 27 Aug 1891 in Dewsbury Yorkshire her father was William Pearson Knowles and her mother was Kate Appleton Hemingway who died in 1902. She married John Allen Munson on 24 Dec 1914 in Grantham. 1 child born 1916 John Arthur and she died in the Bourne Isolation Hospital on 25 Nov 1918. She is a complete mystery and I can't find in the census.

Tracy, Yes that's the family but no Kate. She seems to have disappeared.

Georgina, Tracy found the family but no Kate. On her marriage she is in Grantham at 17 Watergate.

Does the fathers name match on the birth and marriage certs? It does seem a bit odd....

Tracy, It is all a bit strange. The birth certificate states father as William Pearson Knowles and Kate's marriage certificate state William Knowles so I would say they are one and same. Incidentally she is buried in an unmarked grave at Bourne like the family didn't want to know her.

I would think it more likely that your Kate is this one.. Thankyou Tracy, I didn't think that I possibly was looking at the wrong family. It didn't seem to make any sense. I will check this Kate out and let you know.

Tracy, looking at the marriage certificate it states father is a wheelwright and looking at the census you posted it states carpenter and wheelwright. So would say its the right family. THANKYOU SO MUCH. Have ordered birth certificate. Will let you know.
