Hi All I am looking for a James Channing on the 1871 census he was born about 1848 in Thurlbear which is just outside Taunton he was a Carpenter by trade. I hope someone can help and thanks in advance

Having a little hunch here... On 1871 in West Zoyland: Betsey Pollard born 1800 head Alfred Morris born 1839 nephew Richard Bellmoy born 1827 nephew William Bellmoy born 1855 nephew James Channing born 1853? nephew All born West Zoyland. Now Abraham dies before 1861, so Betsey could have married a Pollard and James Channing could be her son mistranscribed as nephew. He's actually listed as boarder and crossed out. Will see if there is a marriage for Betsey.
