Find Ancestors

Hi all. I am looking for Benjamin Spence born 1818approx. He wed Mary Ann Dick born 1816 in 1842 Southwold Suffolk and they had John Benjamin born 1842 Southwold. My problem is tracking them i have them in 1871 east green southwold. Mary ann is listed as being born in Ireland, Ben then died in 1875 and his son died in 1888. I have mary ann in 1891 living in Caithness house southwold she is a widow but it says born scotland. this is definately the correct mary ann. I found one mary ann in the scotland 1841 census correct birth year but nothing helpful with it to connect benjamin or southwold. Rumour has it we come from Caithness in Scotland and i think this may be the link but am having no joy. If anyone could look up Mary Ann Dick and Benjamin Spence in Scotland i would be very grateful as i've done all ancestry will allow! I don't want to pay just yet for the scottish site as i'd like to establish a connection first and i can't afford to waste money. Any advice at all? Thankyou for taking the time to read this waffle! Hi There is a Benjamin on the 1851 census in Southwold with wife Mary Ann and son John B. Also there is Benjamin's Father, William (age 77). Mary Ann is said to be from Limerick,Ireland. William's wife was dead but she was called Susanna. The family lived 3 houses from 1 of my ancestors, James Critten. I'm pretty sure Benjamin had a brother called Thomas born in Southwold c 1813. Could Benjamin have been married before as in 1841 he is with a Sarah as well as baby John and William. There is this death which would fit. I am a bit puzzled, Sarah seems to be the mother of John Benjamin, unless he died and another one was born. Have you got his birth cert? Just a thought. From NBI John Benjamin SPENCE buried 21/11/1888 aged 48yrs at Southwold, which would put his birth year at 1840

Thankyou all so much for your help. I have a marriage cert for Benjamin and first wife Sarah now! (it's handy using the local office) They wed 6th August 1839. I think i've been going round in circles so i apprieciate you allputting me back in line! Now i just have to find the link to Scotland, here goes!
