Does any-one know where in London?

I am trying to find out about my g.dad & try to locate where he was born. My dad was born Sheridan street, st.george in the east,sub district st. george & st. john, which I believe is Bethnal Green. My nan was born holborn,sub district st. george the martyr, which I believe was st. pancras. Nan & g.dad married in st. george in the east. These are all London but how do I find where g.dad was born to find the right Arthur Charles Simmonds who was my g.dad, all I have is his father was Edward & g.dad's marrige cert. say's he was 23 making him born abt.1890 ish. Many thank's for any help. Jackie

Found on BMD Arthur Charles Simmons born March 1890 in Stepney, which is about that area too. The reference is 1c/445 if you want to send for the cert.

I think this would be your gg grandfather in the 1881 census: Edward SIMMONDS Head M Male 25 Lambeth German Sausage Traveller Catherine SIMMONDS Wife M Female 24 Ilford Catherine A. SIMMONDS Daur Female 2 Homerton Edward SIMMONDS Son Male 11 m Homerton Annie A. HAGUE Lodger U Female 20 Bethnal Green Silk Trimmer Dwelling 65 Brooksbys Walk Census Place London, Middlesex, England Quite an occupation - German sausage traveller! But fits with the occupation on the 1901 census well. :-) Cherilyn
