Here is the Nova Scotia GenWeb Project: http://www.rootsweb*com/~canns/ (replace * with .) I cannot view the census (consistent computer problems), but apparently they have a 1838 Nova Scotia census, as well as quite a bit of information. You could try posting a message here: Genforum.genealogy*com/malcolm (replace * with .) |

I'd be glad to try google searches for you. Have you posted a lookup for him on the Records Board? There is a Canadian lookup offered by Mary. (Currently on page 6.) I do not have the ability to see all of the information, but there is something on Ancestry.ca for: William Malcolm, Halifx, NS in the Canadian Genealogy Index, 1600s-1900s Record. It's a long shot, but perhaps Mary, with the Canadian lookups thread might be able to see if he's the one for whom you're looking. |

Hi Christine: Most of my ancestors arrived in Canada after 1830, so I'm not too familiar with searches prior to that time; however, I do know records are sketchy. Have you done any google searches for him? (If not, perhaps I can look around.) Do you know his occupation? Are you trying to find out information about him, or just his parents? My family lived in Ontario, so I don't have too many resources in other parts of Canada, but I would be more than happy to try to help. Can't promise any results, however. |
