I researching my friend's family tree and her grandmother Rose Grantham nee Raithby died in December 1985 in Horncastle. She was born 03 June 1906 in Horncastle. I have found a birth entry for this time but it looks like she had a twin Robert Raithby. No one remembers Rose ever being a twin, so Robert must have died young. But I can't find any trace of his death. Am I right in thinking that Rose is definately Robert's twin sister? Many thanks, Fern -x-. It's likely but not 100% guaranteed. The ONLY way you can be 100% sure is to buy both certificates.

Fern, if you get Rose's birth certificate, then if she was a twin it will have the time she was born on it as well as the date. Also, if Robert died young then there should be an entry for his death....I'll just have a look... Kate.

No, can't see it. Anyway, like I said, if you get Rose's birth cert then you should be able to see if she was a twin or not, but if you want to be 100% certain then you would have to get Robert's birth cert too, as Jools says. Kate.
