Thanks Gwyn Will go and double check again the address and the years she lived there with my mum and will post a message and see if anyone can help. Perhaps if i can crack this i can find more regarding her first son (my grandfather) I have been told sometimes you need to go back and out on your tree branches to be able to come back in! Take care xxx

Hi Deborah...Lots of my friends call me Gwen... so no problem. There are people on GR who live in Southampton. If you put a request on Records Board for an electoral roll lookup in Southampton, - you will need to give them address and year they were definitely there, maybe by PM ...- perhaps someone will be able to check the occupants and see Louisa's name. Are you near Southampton? A main library there will probably have them or one of the Civic buildings near the centre of town......or there may be some in Winchester at the Record Office? If she died in Southampton you may be able to get help from Southampton City Council Bereavement Services 6,Bugle Street, Southampton, Hants SO14 2AJ Tel.023 80 228609 They hold computer stored records for people buried within the city's churchyards and cemeteries. As you know she was already 85, one would have thought it wouldn't be too difficult for them to do a lookup for her, once you have a correct name. Gwyn

Hi Gwen Thankyou for that info. Pretty sure she didn't remarry as she was 85 in 1963. How do i go about looking at the electrol registers? Have not had to go down this route yet, i have been lucky with my research so far. Can't find any death records for her anywhere in the uk for her after 1963! Thanks xxx

Was Louisa living in Southampton in 1963 and if so, is it likely that she died there? You coud check electoral lists for the address where she is known to have lived. Her proper name should be there... or at least the name she was known by and is likely to have been used on official forms/ registrations. Have you thought that she might have married again? -unlikely but I recently found a 'lost' lady, who had remarried at 82, so anything is possible. Gwyn

Hi Am hoping someone can help or point me in the right direction please. Louisa Burge born 1878, married a Thomas Hughes born 1871. Married 20th July 1901 (have cert) They had a son William Hughes born 4th Nov 1901. (my grandad) Louisa then went on to remarry a ???? Turner (not sure on his first name) and had two children Elsie and Victor. Not sure if they were her step children or her own with her new husband. They lived in Shirley Road Southampton for a while. Louisa Turner was last seen by a family member in 1963 and she was called granny Turner by this family member. There are rumours that she left her body to medical research as she was deformed! Have searched high and low, site after site but can't find any death record, remarraige record for Louisa. Have also searched using her maiden name and first married name. Many thanks in advance for any help and advice given. xxx
