Have you tried contacting the regiment directly. Most regiments have their own historian or arcavist!

Carol To take this further you need to get copies of his service record from the Glasgow office I mentioned earlier. I would expect them to contain information on this unfortunate event. Denis.

If there was an inquest it would be recorded on the death cert and the informant would be the coroner. Maybe the person who contacted your g.father got his facts wrong?

Hi Denis Thank you for address and telephone num and will have a look on CWGC too, on his death cert it does give officers names and numbers etc he died in July and was registered in Dec , there must have been an inquest because the cause of death changed when my G.Father questioned it, i must find out the truth because you dont die of pyscosis but thats whats on his death cert thank you Denis Carol

Looks like the registration was delayed by an inquest perhaps? Might be an idea to obtain his service records from: Officers or Soldiers whose regular or reserve service ended between 1921 and 1997 Army Personnel Centre HQ Secretariat Historical Disclosures Mail Point 400 Kentigern House 65 Brown Street Glasgow G2 8EX Tel: 0845 600 9663, option 1, then option 3 Have you looked at the CWGC site to check what date it records etc? Denis.

Hi Nell Sorry i spelt it wrong ,yes i know it cannot cause death , but it says cause of death psycosis, if the army changed cause of death from heart attack to psycosis would nt there have been an inquest? on death cert they registered his death 5 months after his death now that tells me something is not right and i want to put this to rights but dont know how Carol

phsycosis doesn't seem to exist. Psychosis is a mental condition, but not a cause of death.

Well officially the cause of death on the death cert will be the correct one. Was there an inquest?

Carol Report 1 Oct 2006 12:34

My uncle died in ww2 age 20 the army said he died of a heart attack but my G.father disputed this and army then said he had phsycosis resulting from a blow to the head in a boxing ring as he supposidly boxed for the army ,how can i find the truth ,he died in Kwala lumpa just to make it really hard i do have his death cert Carol
