Perhaps even though he dropped the Powell for official documents he may have had to use it as that is what he was born as? I suspect as youve been looking for so long though youve already discounted this one? Name: George Powell Estimated Birth Year: abt 1859 Year of Registration: 1904 Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun Age at death: 45 District: Haverfordwest County: Dyfed, Pembrokeshire Volume: 11a Page: 62_ (click to see others on page) Suzanne X

I'm trying to find the death certificate of George Grainger, born as George Grainger Powell but lost the Powell when his mother remarried the Grainger a few years later. We know he was born 1860 in Hull Yorks. He was at 15 Auboro St Scarborough in 1881 He was fisherman - then became deaf and blind as shown on the 1901 census. We have no record of him after that date, Martha his wife remarried in 1904, we do not know if he was still alive at this time or not. If you could help that would be great - we have been looking for over 5years for his death cert!!!!! Many Thanks
