Hi Polly Maybe a long shot but found this George with a Sarah his occupation is listed as shoemaker as was your George in 1881. Birthplace information incorrect but they do have a son with them aged 13 who is ? Horace and name ? badly transcribed. I see from the 1881 that George was a shoemaker - which fits with the 1891 I have found. Maybe they were somewhat confused as to where they were born !!

Even more confusing, out lot were definately Norwich born but names and occupations the same..I have the marriage and family of Horace to Fanny Langdon..

Where did Horace marry ? Presume this is his birth Births Mar 1878 Jeary Horace Thacker Bethnal Green 1c 202 - if so not always to be found in Norfolk !!

I knew it wasn't just me that was confused.. Have Horace's descendents but not James, so where did they go..?

That's him ,Elaine,Thacker was a family name..!

Hi Polly just read in reference book that information on censuses can sometimes be unreliable as some people gave the place where they were living at the time of the census as their place of birth, not actually where they were born and the enumerators could only fill in the information they are given.
