Find Ancestors

I have found the following on FreeBMD Marriages Dec 1851 Johnson Ph*be Bridge 5 117 Scan available - click to view Rye Charles Bridge 5 117 Scan available - click to view But I can't find the details when searching in Ancestry and I can't get the thingy in BMD to work that lets me see the scan of the page. I'm pretty sure that the Wife's name was Phoebe Thomson, not Johnson, is anyone able to help please?

The image is definitely Johnson. First name looks like Phobe Bridge 5, 117

Definitely Johnson........... The only Phoebe Thom(p)son married in the qtr was in Amersham district Reg

Now that's weird. On the 1861 census, Charles and Phoebe are married and have a Thomas and Caroline Thomson staying with them who are described as 'Brother' & 'Sister', they must be hers or they would be called Rye wouldn't they?

Caroline could be the sister........I assume she is married? Reg

Ahhhh, so Caroline could have married a Thomson and he is down as Brother rather than BIL, thanks Reg, that makes sense.

That's them, and no Thomas who apparently was born about the same year as Caroline.

Sue...........Phoebe and Caroline are at 'home' in 1851, prior to either of their marriages. Thomas would be somewhere else, one imagines. Caroline and Thomas are married to each other when they are staying with Charles and Phoebe. Reg

Must have felt like giving her Sunday name........or else the enumerator asked for her 'proper' birth name, rather than the name by which she was usually known......... Reg
