Can anyone help me, im trying to find info on a james laughlin & ann ? they lived in kilmarnock, ayr, only info i have on them was their sons marriage extract in 1875, their son was also called james laughlin & he married a margaret cassidy, thanks

Try familysearch.org (free site) Several ancestral files for right time frame Kilmarnock if you type in James Laughlin and Scotland. Also in IGI Quite often names incorrectly spelt when transacribed and so searches for nearest match. Linda

This is the only marriage I can see in Kilmarnock on the IGI.. JAMES LAUGHLAN Male Marriages: Spouse: ANN SMITH Marriage: 17 FEB 1815 Kilmarnock, Ayr, Scotland Georgina.

Hi Liz, Young James was born in Glasgow so could parents be there? Do you have the marriage cert of young James? Does it have any addresses? You'll find the IGI at www.familysearch.org Heather

liz it could well be, its hard to read the surname on the son's marriage extract, dated june 25th 1875, thats when james laughlin married margaret cassidy & on there the surname looks like it starts in mc? liz
