Yes what you have so far is correct. Although I have just realised I have given you some wrong information. My Grandfather is Duncan and he married Margaret Shanks Dunlop. My Gt Grandfather is James who married Eliza Dun. My Gt Gt Grandfather is Duncan who married Janet. Sorry for my error. All the names seem to merge into one!!! Duncan & Janet's children - Duncan (1822), Alexander ((1824), John (1826), Finlay (1828), *James (1829), Jane (1833). So I am lookng for Gt Gt Grandfather Duncan. Sorry once again

Georgina. Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you. Here's my info - My Gt grandfather is Duncan KEIR (DOB unknown) he married Janet STEWART on 8/jan/1820. Janet's DOB 9/may/1792. She died 13/june/1865 aged 73yrs (Wards Farm, Drymen). On 1851 census she is widowed, so Duncan died before 1851. Think I got Janet's info from LDS, but can find nothing on Duncan. Any help? My Grandfather is also called Duncan and as previously posted cannot find him or his wife & family in 1901. If you need anymore info let me know

Thanks Georgina. I am in work at the moment so don't have any paperwork. Will post a message with info when I get home. I got stuck with my mums side of the family (Liverpool) so put it away for the time being. I have had so much fun researching my dad's side. So much info from Scotland certs. When I have any additional info ie certs with additional names on them I have listed them on the board in the hopes that they can help someone else. Thanks for your offer.

Thanks Georgina. Have that info (spent a fortune getting it!!!). Spent another fortune looking for them in 1901 but cannot find them. The only thing I didn't look for before I ran out of credits was a mistranscribed name. Will have to save up to look again!!! Margarets Maiden name was Dunlop. Have her birth cert - Margaret Shanks Dunlop.

BUT depending on which county in Scotland you are looking, there may have been some transcribed on the FreeCen site.
