hi reg, thanks for the shoemaker bit looks like it was a popular occ with my family on all sides. i have taken that on board,was going to check the maiden name today. thought if i could find the marriage with the males name,then cross check it using the dates for the female name (if you know what i mean) failing that send for the cert on the basis of the male, see where that gets me,already ordered lots of wrong certs dont suppose one more would hurt, fingers crossed. tracey

hi reg, sorry didny reply yesterday,something came up had to dash to school, i have looked at it and all the info ties in great, dont know where to look to find the apprentice(what he did) but will in time. the reason i am quite keen to trace this bit of the branch is because its my husbands and he decends from the john and frances west tree,the famous scrivener. also have been told that oliver cromwell married into the family would like to see where, will be looking up the deaths and marriages today and sending for certs this wk-end. thanks reg.

oooooRRR, hang on folks so sorry i have got i wrong,my brain has just kicked in the mothers married name harley,in 1871,but if there is no record of eliza then possible that mother re-married and i have got the wrong surname for her. i dont have the fathers details yet so carnt cross ref,mothers name in 1871 was mary harley born 1802 waltham leicestershire. sorry tracey

On 1851 there are these Eliza's of that age group you state - but none in Leics. If you think any of these is a possibility, let me know and I will look up the entry for you.
