Hello, Could somebody please look up, Samuel Glass, he was born in Ireland, would be aged around 58 years. In 1901 he is living in Selby, W.Yorkshire as a flax dresser. Thanks, Alison.

There is no Samuel Glass born in Ireland in 1891. There are 3 born in Scotland but they are all far too young. Liz x

Hello esta, In 1871 he is living with his wife and children in Gildersome, Leeds, Yorkshire. (Wife is Catherine) Then i cant see him in 1881 or 1871, but he then appears agin on 1901 living in Selby with a new wife and none of his children are living with him! as they all moved to Manchester with there mother around 1881. Any help with finding him in '81 and '91 would be great!! Maybe his name has been spelt wrong? Alison.

I've been having a good look and can't see him........I suppose there's always the possibility he was back in Ireland ! Have you found the 2nd wife in 1891 ?

Thanks for trying Esta. In 1881 his son Robert is in a reformatory in yorkshire. No i haven't got his 2nd wife in 1891, as they didn't marry till 1894, she would be down as Mary Ritchie or Mary Ann Cawson Alison.

I realised they wouldn't be married just thought he might be 'near by ' :-)

Alison, Do you have the details of Samuel's marriage to Mary Ritchie? According to Yorkshire BMD it took place at St Peter's in Leeds in 1984 in the December Quarter. I can have at look this for you next time I go to The Leeds Central Library , let me know if you would like the details. George
