Subject : The Norris Family 1901 Census living in Putney Hi Suzanne, you kindly helped out when Mad Alice (my old mate from 48 yrs ago!) requested some information on a Cock/s Family in Putney. Well thanks to the replies she passed on to me, I am now able to trace some of my Mothers long lost 2nd cousins whom she visited in 1945. I just need to confirm this family. They are George Norris b:abt 1859 Head Sarah Norris (nee Godsiff) b: abt 1861 wife, 2 children Charles & George. 2 are showing ages 13 & 10 yrs. If you can track them I would appreciate their address. It has taken me almost a month to put all the peices together to track this family. Thanks in anticipation It would be much appreciated. Hi Trish, yes that is why I laid them out as they appeared on the census. Not very helpful of them was it. Hopefully they will be more accomodating in the 1841 (unfortunately I dont have access to that at the moment) Suzanne |

Hi Deborah I think I may have found the family but the head is born St Ives (Huntingdon?) following the family there is a George born to the family in 1853. I tried to find YOUR George in 1891 under the name Murgrave as you suggested to cross reference but couldnt find him under that name in 1891? I dont want to give you the wrong details as there are a lot of families with variation on the name. Can you confirm again your George's findings so that I can track him backwards please. Suzanne Update: I will post the family I THINK is your further down the thread. |
