The name Dowell has always been used as far as i know don't know much else about it really. I was thinking if william was brought up by other family members the name matty is short for martha is't it . I have hear through family that there was talk of aunty matty and it looks like William Snr has a sister called martha. Is it possible he was brought up by her? Andrea.

Brick wall you could be on to something here it sounds as if it could be william's sister does she have any other family. And you might have found my great great granfather's family which i didn't have. William Snr's family. Thanks. andrea.

The Corning image does look like Corning, and William and Martha are described as son and daughter to Isaac and Amelia. Kath. x

Can only find the father with wife Elizabeth and two children Phillis and Phillip. Kath. x

Could anybody do a look up on william Dowell Conning born 1892 in liverpool. We believe his father is william Dowell Conning and his mother was Susannah ellen Cope who had died in 1896 when william was 4 years and his father remarried elizabeth Bromilow and had two more children. But I can not find william anywhere and it is possible he had a sister called Martha. I would be greatful of any help. Thank you Andrea.
