I am looking for a John Cattell (or Cattle/Cattel) born Lyneham, Oxfordshire in 1856. I can't find him after the 1881 census so I am wonderering if he went to USA, Canada, or Australia. Please could some one check Many thanks |

Hi Lauretta Emmirgation records arn't easy to track down....you'll ave ajob trying to find out if he emmigrated. Have you checked for death? Have you asked for others to look in censuses for you (sometimes a second/third or forth pair of eyes helps). Suzanne |

Thank you everyone for looking. I have him on the 1881 but that is it. I have just assuemd he emigrated because I couldn't find him anywhere else. He was not a tradesman so I am stuck.... Thanks again |

On the 1881 it is as Victor Cattell with Dad John mother Rebecca and sister Louisa.(born Lyneham) Many thanks |

Hello Reg I admit I have had a brainstorm. Sorry sorry. Yes it was Victor and how did you find that death - I looked. Definite overload. (My daughter took me shopping to buy her a prom dress and after I found out the cost, my brain went into overdrive!!!!!! I mean my son's only wore dinner suits that cost under £50 to hire - it's bread and jam for the next 2 years). I am so sorry for wasting everyone's time - I am usually quite good (I think) |
