Hi Im trying to find William Heaton born c1793 Rumworth Bolton areas. I have him married to Ellen Heaton maiden name unknown. Their children were Joseph Edmund, James, Ellen, Nancy and Roger. Hi Georgina Thanks for that. I have that information, I am looking for any siblings and parents of William Heaton b1793 (the head) and maybe his wifes also. I do have a Alice Heaton b1715 as a relative but cant work out the connection of my Alice 1715 to William as she would have been 74yrs old when she had him, so deffo not his mother, Maybe his grandmother. I dont have access to any census' to look up bdm, so am relying on the generousity of others. Thanks Irene

yes Peter The family you have named are my Heatons. Edmund age 17 is my gggrandfather he was born 1824 and all the names on the list you have given have been passed down through the generations. Nando Heaton etc could be Williams parents as the details of bolton etc fit. It would be great if I could find out more info. Im really very grateful for your help. Irene

why would they have two Mary Heatons born different years? Do you think that perhaps the eldest Mary died young and so they named another child Mary? Its confusing and so many children!!!!!!!

If you google online parish clerk for Lancashire and click on Deane there is a list of Christenings and marriages that took place at the parish church

Irene when there is children with the same first names in one family it usually means the first child died. Some of these entries could have been added by LDS members and therefore need double checking. If you go to the family search site and on the righthand side of the search screen just add the mother & fathers names, click search then all the entries for that couple will come up. On the Mary Heaton entry it actually tells you she died the next year... Thanks Georgina and Peter. Am looking through the Parish records and there are lots of Heatons. so am trying to see if any match my lot. Have noticed that the earlier records seem to have names spelled almost like the latin version, up until the 1720s/30s then they go into the modern day spellings. So could take me a while to make a connection. When did they actually start making up census' as most people seem only to be able to check from 1841 onwards. Were there only Parish records to go on before this date?

Do you think that Nando Heaton stands for ferdinand? As looking on the parish records, there is a Ferdinandi, then the same person spelled Ferdinando and later still as they went from the Latin version to the more common version Ferdinand. If this is the case then it gives alot of his childrens names on the parish register, also there seems to be a lot of Lamberts there too, I'm wondering if all these Lamberts are also connected to Nando, as there is a Lambert christened 1683, would this possibly be Nandos father?

Irene there are so many Lambert Heaton's they are hard to work out. This looks like the most likely to be Nandos father but you will need to double check where you can because this is an entry by an LDS member.
