Given that he's 50, I'd say she's more likely to be his Granddaughter

Chris Report 13 Feb 2006 23:44

I was referring to the Charles who is 12 possibly being the farther Chris

Very unlikely, I'd say. I'd look for an older brother of Charles to be Emma's father.

Ohh... no, I don't think so. There are probably older siblings, and one of them is the parent. I'd try 1841 for possible ones.

Orangeblossom ☼ - Tracy What is the best site for 1841 census? Thanks Chris

The 1841 is not online.........you have to hope that some kind GR member has the disc for the county you seek. As Harriet was born in 1803, the girls are not likely to be hers. She is the grandmother in 1851. Reg

I see you have a thread with the same title on the Tips Board - it is best to post on just one or the other so people don't waste their time looking up stuff that somebody else has already done! Kate.

WHERE is this family in 1851 or 1841 please. You don't give any indication of where they are born or where they are living ? A few 1841 census's are available on the British Origins site ... but depends which county you need Elaine ;-)

I'd say its very unlikely that are her daughters She'd have been 47 when the older one was born - so yes - still possible I suppose - but she'd have been 52 with the younger one I'd imagine they were her grandchildren and possibly because they were illegitimate she's taken them in and is bringing them up as her own. Only way to really know is order the birth certificates tho Zoe
