Hi Em you little gem - very kind of you to offer. I would love to be able to find this family on the Scotland 1891 or 1901 census (already got them on the 1881): John Macarthy, head, bc1848 Margaret Macarthy, wife, bc1849 John Macarthy, son, bc1874 Andrew Macarthy, son, bc1879 Malcolm Macarthy, son, bc1881 Catherine Macarthy, dau, bc1883 Margaret Macarthy, dau, bc1886 Robert Macarthy, son, bc 1889 They may have been listed as McCarthy. They were living in Glasgow in 1881 and most of these children were born in Glasgow, Lanark, if that helps. The 1881 census says that both of the John's were born in England. Wife Margaret born Scotland. Just had a thought - it might be easier to search on Robert Macarthy/McCarthy as there are bound to be lots of John's! Very grateful for your help - Leah |
