Hi Holly, many thanks for the offer. Could you please look for James Finan. He was born Cassop, County Durham, England, 1873. I have found two records on the Ellis Island website. In 1908 he was heading to Beriton? Illinois and in 1912 he was heading to Herrin, Illinois. He was a coalminer. Regards Norman.

Can you look up for me a John Cheyne please? We know very little about his early years.

From his marriage certificate to Catherine McLeod in Scotland 1934 he was born c.1910 and we are led to believe he was born in America though we haven't a clue whereabouts. He was an American soldier when he met Catherine.

John's parents were John Cheyne and Janet Park aka Jennie who were married in Scotland in 1904. Other children that we know of were a son Andrew born 1904 in Scotland and a daughter Margaret.
