Leah Thanks for census info re George Dickenson + Sarah Dickenson. She did have brother William born 1837 but have located him at Aldershot in '61(He joined the army). So don't think they are mine. Pity! Marriage of Dinah Patrick in Scarborough. I don't know. Trouble is I have a death certificate for 1869 issued by the General Hospital Birmingham which gives very few details, no address or status. But as Sarah Patrick/Knight was living nearby when she married Wright in 1869 I think the chances are that she is my lady. |

Christine, I'm wondering if you have an 'unlucky' widow Sarah Ann here (more than once) (Leah - I read the spouse as Robert Hurworth or Huworth) Regards, Keith |

Hi - not sure if I've got myself in a muddle with all of this, but I found a marriage for a Sarah Patrick in Kettering in 1858 to a George Dickenson. Looked up George Dickenson in Northants on the 1861 Census and found: George Dickenson, 32(?) shoemaker Sarah Dickenson, 22, wife Henry Dickenson, 1, son William PATRICK, brother-in-law, 30(?) ag lab (have put question marks because ages are a bit unclear on census original). Anyway, not sure if this Sarah and William Patrick are those from your family line. The fact that this Sarah married in Kettering made me think they could possibly be connected. The other thing I found was a marriage for a Dinah Patrick in 1867 Scarborough - to either a John Magson or Robert Horworth. Is this your Dinah on a second or third marriage perhaps? Hope I haven't confused matters more! Leah |

Hello Henry Sarah Patrick married Thomas Wright in Birmingham in 1869, She is described as a widow name of KNIGHT but I cannot locate a marriage between PATRICK = KNIGHT. So cannot confirm first marriage only the second one to Thomas Wright. Thanks for your interest Christine |

Hello June Sarah Ann Patrick married Thomas Wright in Birmingham in 1869. she described herself as a widow name of KNIGHT. I have not been able to find any record of marriage between PATRICK + KNIGHT. She would have been aged 18 in 1861 so perhaps using the name of PATRICK or KNIGHT. |

Christine I think I am going to have to admit defeat with this one. I have tried every conceivable combination of name/DOB/place of birth. Sorry. I can't see Dinah or Sarah Ann in Wales either. Have you tried Scotland? You never know. Best of luck. Suzy |

Can anyone find my elusive Gt.Grandmother DINAH PATRICK in 1861? Have located her in the 1841 & 1851 census in Kettering Northants. Believed to have died in 1869 at Birmingham. She was born c.1816 in Kettering and widowed in 1850. She had 3 children WILLIAM b.1836 located in Aldershot in 1861, JOHN b.1838 located in Northampton in 1861 and SARAH ANN b.1843 also NOT FOUND IN 1861. Keeping my fingers crossed for some super sleuth to end this puzzle which has been driving me mad for ages. |
