Hi again ! it has got to be Etna Street in Old Swan, if it states on the certificate West Derby with the Sub District as West Derby Eastern. The birth was probably registered at Brougham Terrace. |

Yeah, I reckon it must be Etna Street in West Derby, Old Swan, L13. The birth cert. says the registration district is West Derby, and the sub-district, West Derby then, looks like 'Easten' ? (the writing is appauling on this cert! Sue |

Sue, a combination of memory, 1906 Everton map and 1911 Gores directory Etna st is up by Mill Rd Hospital so it will be West Derby registry, which is 5 min from Mill rd, as for the rest Piorot is right Langsdale st (my dads old childhood st) and Atkinson st are within 5min walk of each other in Everton, hope this helps a little... also its about 10min walk from etna St to the other two streets.....MOE! |

Sue, West Derby was most probably the registration district, if you look at the birth certificate again, see what the Sub District was? if it was Everton ? it will be the Etna Street off Margaret Street, Everton. |

Thanks guys! I reckon it could be Etna Street! the writing on the certificate is very 'scrawly' so what I thought was Etua very probably is Etna! Thanks again! sue |

Hello Sue, A lot of the old Liverpool Streets have been demolished.. To look at old maps there's a site called old - maps(.)co(.)uk Remove the brackets and put the letters closer together. From the above site, you can enlarge the map eg. West Derby, and scroll around the streets, the map shows all houses, trees, mines, schools etc...its great. Have Fun Diane NSW Australia ex Lancs |

I've got the Etua Street name off a birth certificate (I forgot I'd got it!) it is definately spelt like this, and it says it's in West Derby. It is probably long gone as the birth cert is from 1906. Thanks anyway Poirot. |

Sometimes you can find out where a place was by googling. To see if it still exists you can look on www streetmap co uk (put . in spaces). This is a great site, you can search London Streets, streets or placenames, and you can then zoom in or out of the map. nell |

Susan, having spent my childhhod in Everton, Liverpool, my school was in Langsdale Street. And it ran up from Soho Street to Shaw Street. Atkinson Street was of Mansfield Street, off St Anne Street. There was no such street as Etua Street, you must have the spelling wrong. |
