Not really Victoria it tends to only go on the name - the 1841 census is really sparce only about 30% of the whole of england were put on this census. This was the first trial so its a bonus if your relatives are on there. I might be able to do a better search for you on the parish records. Just give me the information you've got. Lesley |

Dear Lesley, is your offer still open? I am really stuck. I need an 1841 look up if this is still possible. I am looking for William James Bateman born around 1836. Possibly with sisters Ann Bateman and Maria Bateman. Mother Jane Bateman. His father was also called William James Bateman. William lived in Deptford Kent (now London). The family may have also lived in Rotherhithe or surrounding areas. Any help is very much appreciated, Selena ps William was a waterman on his son's marriage cert in 1859 |

Hi Lesley I would be very grateful if you could possibly look on the 1841 lOndon for: George Hallett born c. 1800 in Romford, Essex (taken from the 1851) Betsey Hallett born c. 1810 in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk They should have at least one child born c. 1838 but I have conflicting information as to name - it could be George or John (they had both eventually but I'm having major problems tracking down births and later censuses show either one or the other and dates vary quite considerably). Both George and John were born in Lambeth so I am making the assumption that the family were living there in 1841. I appreciate any help you can give. Kind regards Louise NB I am going away from 16th-23rd so cannot send thanks during that time so will send them in advance!! |

Hi Lesley I would be very grateful if you could help with a missing family of mine on the 1841 census. Apart from the 1881 & 1891 census my gt gt grandfather appears no where. His name is George Hubble - dob 16/6/1839 in Marylebone. Parents are John Hubble and Jane (nee Lucas) I understand why George doesn't appear in later census' because he became a mariner as a boy (12 I guess as not on 1851), so unless I can find them on the 1841 I guess I won't be able to trace his parents at all! Any help would be very much appreciated - as stuck! Sarah |

Hi Lesley, Could you please check the London 1841 census for William Blackburn and Ellen Fennessey. In 1851 William was a 23 year old wheelwright, living with his first wife Ann (possibly Hatton), at 24 Endell Street St. Giles in the Fields Middlesex. Ellen Fennessey was William's second wife and was born c.1838 St. Giles. If you have access to the Parish records for St. Giles could you please check for either of William's marriages and any of his children. I know that this is a lot to ask, but any records that you find will be greatly appreciated. Regards Norman. |

Hi Lesley Please could you see if you could find Arabella Wilkins in 1841 in London- probably around 10 Old Street, St Luke's. She was a widow of a coppersmith aged about 60/62, possibly associated with her son Thomas Wilkins aged about 30, he was also a coppersmith and they might have been in business together.. She should have been alive in 1851 but I can't find her anywhere. I would like the reference too if you could manage it. Many thanks Felicity Sanderson |
