Could SKS please look up the following, I'd love the images if possible.... Jane Swail, aged about 18. Born in Brompton/Chatham/Gillingham, Kent. John Swail, father of the above. Unfortunately no idea of where or when he was born. I know he supposedly still alive though (after 1854 at least). I would guess he was in Kent. Understand if this is far too little to go on. Occupation was Mariner. James SWAIL, aged about 27. Living in Chatham possibly (was in 1852). He was a mariner too. Joseph Corby, aged about 63 (c1787) in Harrow, Middlesex. Should be living in Rochester with family.... Louisa (wife, b1797), Joseph, Catherine and Rebecca. Any other Corby's in Kent area in 1851?? Thanks. If I don't answer straight away, I'm not being ungrateful, I just have a youth club to get to.... I help out there. Chloe x

A Greenwich Pensioner is the naval equivalent of a Chelsea Pensioner guys. I have one too.

Thanks Heather. It's possibly him. He's so elusive though! On the two marriage certs, one was definitely a relative, the other I think was, both give his occ as 'mariner' - doesn't mention the navy. Grrrrr. Still haven't found Jane Swail's baptism.... I know she's about somewhere!! She's my ggg grandmother!
