I think this is just a myth and it will not be on this week or next, but i do understand it is not the images that are the problem, but the transcription, well why do they not load the images anyway, for those of us that have an idea where we are looking, and stage the indexing later, instead of keeping us hanging on for transcrips that are going to be wrong anyway |

Elaine - I'm sure this has been explained before, but the 1851 sample is not ancestry getting started on their 1851 census transcriptions and due to be expanded. It is a sample of about 2% of the 1851 census which was transcribed ages ago and ancestry just bought it in to keep us going while they work on their own transcription. No doubt when they do provide the 1851 it will have images as well. Kate. |

I can get access to 1851 Sample census still .... its mostly Devonshire ...well, I have found hundreds of my Devonshire lot on it anyway ! Some people can no longer gain access but I can ... ( I'm NOT smiling honestly !) If they increase the 1851 at all, I will let you know ! Elaine :-) |

There have certainly been suggestions that 1851 is imminent - it now appears in one of the drop down menus and several people think they saw it briefly linked from the home page as if someone was testing. I am certainly checking every day in case it does appear! MB |

Hi All Have been to a meeting of the Cornwall Family History Society this afternoon, and got talking to a gentleman there called Ian Argal. He is the man responsible for the Genuki web site (excellent site). He informed me that the 1851 census on Ancestry should be on in the next week, AND they should have 1841 on there by the end of the year. Is that good news or what!!!!! Pauline |
