so if loopy has looked at Births marriages AND deaths up to 1983 what possibilities has she come up with? I cannot believev that loopy has looked at all those quarters for you , under all 3 sections and not come up with anything. She must be a richer man than me!!

Hi jess Yes i must agree with you ,i need 1948 an up to 3/2 1949 that s when brother was informed of death ,would it be poss to find without a new married name,i dont think she did remarry coz i searched 1837 from 1930 -1945 for amarriage and the only annie g mills was not the one coz i sent for the cert and the g in the middle stood for grace , so what do you suggest i do now as you are always right with your advice to people thanks Jess Carolx

Hi Sarah Thank you it is good to know someone has been following my story , i have come along way but a surname is stopping me find granny Annie short of searching the cemetries of kent as there must be only one Annie Gellatly stewart ,mills or ? buried there Carolx

Thanks Sarah, have re-read it. still think it pretty hopeless a search , because we dont really know what we are looking for. basically anything with ( whatever the middle name was) matched with an Annie??and hope and pray that who ever registered her death knew her middle name, and didn't register her as Ann..or just Annie? I am still not sure how the assumption that she died in kent has come about

Hi Girls I am praying that her husband or daughter reistered her with her middle name as it is an unusual one , at least i have kent as her deathplace and not the world as i had 2 days ago i really appreciate any help as without you all i would not have come this far and 35 yrs is a long time to look for a granny love CarolX

Hi All Good morning do you thinki will find granny Carolx

Her death will be registered, hence she is findable, underwhat name is debatable. You will have to buy some credits for 1837 on line and trawl every registration area in kent in the years in which you guess she died. Its going to cost you a small fortune, but will get the result you want, (hopefully) I personally would wait now until you have the letter. i would find it very strange for a letter to say so-and-so 'died in Kent' hopefully it will say something like 'Annie died in margate'

Approaching from another angle. Do you know an approximate date for Iris' birth? You need to find one in GRO index with STEWART logged against it, as mother's maiden name. If you can really narrow down her birth years, that wouldn't be an impossible search, although you'd need patience.
