hi everyone, thanks for all you replies, i would be grateful for any info you have. the only dates i have is g grandfather born Whitchurch Shropshire 1844 married Harriet F? in 1865, g g grandfather was Richard Williams don't know when he was born, poss 1820ish, he married Alice, can only assume that was in Whitchurch as well |

Hello Rosemary.I did wonder about that.Looks like the 41 and 51 are the same family but they were a bit liberal rounding the ages off in 41.!!! |

I have found only one possible marriage in Wem district - unfortunately, this is the only name transcribed by Ancestry............ Prior to 1852 when Whitchurch became a registration district, all Whitchurch events were under Wem registration district. Have not found a birth on ancestry civil reg. nell |

Glenys has e-mailed me this information: i have the name of my g grandfather who was James Williams born in 1844 in Whitchurch, Shropshire, I also know that my g g grandfather was called Richard Williams who married a lady called Alice i really would like to find out what her surname was and if ther is a Census that someone might have that will give me that info. thanks Glenys nell |

I have to agree with Isobel. I live in Shropshire and i have never heard of Whitworth?? The only Whitworth i know of is up in Lancashire. If you want to provide what information you have already im sure a few of us will see what we can find for you. Regards. Andy |

The census is taken every 10 years, so there's one 1841 and one in 1851. What is your ggg grandfather's name and do you know when and where he was born? nell |
