I love helping others on this board, and most of the time seem to find their rellies fairly quickly, but can I find my Great Nan in 1901? Can I heck!!----------------- She was born in 1893 - christened: LILY CALLAHAN, and when she got married in 1914 she was LILIAN CATHERINE CALLAHAN.----------------- This is the rest of her family in 1901 (mis-transcribed): Ellen Callaham abt 1861 Norfolk, England Wife Lambeth London ------------- Frederick Callaham abt 1891 Battersea Son Lambeth London ----------------- James Callaham abt 1833 Westminster Head Lambeth London ---------------- John Callaham abt 1882 Westminster Son Lambeth London --------- Mary Anne Callaham abt 1882 Westminster Daughter London ------------------- LILY and her younger sister BEATRICE (born 1898) are obviously not as home, but can I find them?------------------ On previous census, the family name has been mis-spelt as: Callaghan, Calligan or Galligan, etc-------------------- I would welcome fresh eyes. Many thanks. Suzy |

Suzy, Forgive me for asking this ... but have you GOT her birth certificate already ? Just wondering how on earth you came to the conclusion that she is part of this family ...if she isn't on the 1901 census with her parents ... and her marriage cert only gives Fathers name.? I'm snooping around the 1901 for her ... but I'm curious how you found out about her in the first place ! Dancer x |

Suzy, do you have any addresses for 1901 - family or in laws? Babs |

Thanks for your reply Dancer. I do have the certificate for Lily's birth. She is my Great Nan and we are a very close-knit family. Some of her children are still alive, and they, as well as my Dad, have been able to tell me the names of her Mum and Dad, and brothers and sisters. She was one of eight children, and all the names fit. I have the family in 1891 and 1881, and all the older siblings are there. The three older siblings have been accounted for on the 1901; and Lily and Beatrice are not with them. Suzy |

Babs Lily's family are living at: 9 Hunt Street Lambeth London That is the only address I have for them. One older brother is in prison!!, another older brother is a lodger in another part of London, and her oldest sister is a servant in London. The Callahan family have come from the London area for ever; as far as anyone can ascertain. Lily's Mum was born in Norwich, but apart from that, I can trace the Callahan's back to 1830 - and they all live either in Westminster or just over the river in Lambeth. Thanks again. Suzy |

Thanks girls, you are stars!! I know it's not essential to find my Great Nan on the 1901, but I'm just curious as to where her and her baby sister were. Many, many thanks again. I'll just have to wait for the 1911. LOL Suzy |
