Sorry, Jenny, I don't have Ancestry, so can't see the image. Just looked for Mildreds of the right age and noticed that there was an Annie on the same page. My connection keeps on playing up, so searching has been a bit slow. |

Well, these may not be your ancestors, but there is a Mildred, aged 10, born Richmond and living there, with an Annie aged 39, born Richmond on the same page. The surname? “…” |

Hello Helen, Suggested Surrey as Both Mildred F and her mother Annie were both in Richmond,Surrey separately on the 1891 census. Mildred at 3 Holy Trinity Cottages ,Richmond,Surrey (4 months old) And the possible Annie, Belle Vue House,Richmond,Surrey age 18,unmarried,born Twickenham. Mildred had occupation Dressmaker in 1912 when she gave birth to her own illegitimate son in Hanwell,Brentford. She was living in Sheen Road,Richmond in 1912. Thanks for reordering it it now seems much clearer to read. Thanks Jenny |

If they were from Middlesex, why are you suggesting they are missing in Surrey? nell |

Jenny To paraphrase: Annie Maria Richardson [dob/birthplace unknown] had Mildred Florence Richardson in1890,Isleworth,Middlesex. No father is listed on her birth cert. Her mother is a domestic servant. In 1891 you have Mildred living as a boarder aged 4 months, without her mother. A GR member found a possible match for Annie on 1891 aged 18 bn Twickenham,Middlesex,a servant RG12/619,folio 25,pg 2 not far from where daughter was living as a boarder. It seems that Mildred was illegitimate, which is why there is no father on the cert, and Mildred was put to board near her mother who had to work to earn both their keeps. As Mildred would be 10 or 11 in 1901 it is quite possible that she was also working as a domestic servant and she might even be quite a way away from home - especially if the family she worked for had another residence, or moved. Annie could have married in the meantime - have you checked for a marriage on Freebmd? nell |

Hello several kind people have tried looking and I've looked on the 1901 online but with no success!!!! My mystery people are Annie Maria Richardson and her daughter Mildred Florence Richardson DOB 1890,Isleworth,Brentford,Middlesex. Mildred should be age 10-11yrs ,Annie's DOB is not known nor is her place of birth confirmed. Mildred was found living as a boarder aged 4 month on 1891 census her mother was not present. A GR member found a possible match for Annie on 1891 aged 18 bn Twickenham,Middlesex,a servant RG12/619,folio 25,pg 2 not far from where daughter was living as a boarder. I would need to find them on 1901 to confirm Annie's place of birth to then buy a birth cert for Annie. I have bought Mildred's already and no father is listed but her mother is shown as a Domestic servant in 1890. Please help solve this brickwall for me, and thanks in advance for your time. Jenny |
