Hi Vera Thanks very much for looking. So frustrating cos I know they're there...somewhere! Even more so cos out of 6 children, I can only locate a marriage for one of them and that was in 1850 in Paddington! Ah well, back to smacking my head against the wall then! Lou

Hi Lou, I am so sorry they are not there. Very annoying!!!! By the way on the census they spelt it BENTICK STREET. Regards Vera

Hi Vera I wont get excited just yet! I know my ancestors and their obsession with living in as many houses/streets/districts/counties as is physically possible in a lifetime! Lou

Hi Keith Pity they didn't choose to hide in a little village in Cheshire or something that might have been easier to search! Lou

Hi Lou, I looked up Bibbs for you....haven't I? These ancestors are no help....they makes things so difficult. Keep your fingers .....and everything else crossed for your Hoopers. Regards Vera

Hi Keith It could possibly be, one of the older Hooper daughters is in service in 41 in Cavendish Sq so maybe she stayed fairly local to the family. And you've spelt it right (as per how the lady told me), its me that's spelt it wrong in my original message. Ooops, sorry Vera! Thanks! Lou

Hi Lou I use to go to school in Marylebone High Street which run into Thayer Street with a Bentinck Street off of that, could that be your street with a spelling mistake? the sub district is Cavendish Square. Keith

Hi Lou, If any of your family were born in Marylebone, do you know what area/parish? Regards Vera

Unknown Report 12 Apr 2005 10:25

Hi Vera Sorry no, it didn't. They are there in 1831, someone has kindly checked that its my family in the records that are held at Westminster (????) and it is. Was hoping they would still be there in 41 but all she said was Bentick Street, Marylebone. I have a very appalling knowledge of the area to even hazard a guess at where the street would be Lou

Vera Report 12 Apr 2005 10:21

Hi Lou, When you found the street name, did it give an area of Marylebone Regards Vera

I'm looking for Thomas and Harriet Hooper or any members of the Hooper family who might still be living at what looks like, Bentick Street, Marylebone in 1841! Thanks Lou
