That is a very kind offer. I recently visited scotlandspeople but came away with not much details. I would like to confirm the parents of Isabella Lawcock born about 1825 glasgow died 1912. I know her parents only as Andrew Lawcock and Janet Lawcock so does that mean they were cousins? Also I have her middle name as McGregor but I have not been able to make a connection with any Mcgregor family. There is also a marriage between David Sloan and Mary Haddow 13 Oct 1811, if there are any details of their parentage. Any help with any of these would be great. I dont like to ask to much as I expect you will be bombarded with requests as I was when visiting Lincoln for records. Regards and thanks Gloria

Hi Jillian Thanks so much for the offer. I am trying to find a little more info on a Francis, Bridget, Short, Drummond (this is her birth name) born 18/2/1816 Hoddam Dumfries the IGI give her parents as John Drummond and Jessy Short (from IGI) My rellies are John Drummond and Jessie (Janet) Short from Dumfriess latterly of Barjarg Tower, Parish of Keir. John was Head Gardener. I am unsure as to whether Francis is theirs. I wondered if there may be death record for Francis (sorry no date) and more info on it about the parents, as I think it gives father's occupation and mother's maiden name. Hope this enough to go on. Very gratefully Lynda

Thank you so very much for your kind offer. If you have the time I'd be interested in : Donald Andrew McKenzie born in uphall. The year is a bit foggy I'm afraid anywhere between 1860 - 1898. However I can confirm his parents names were Peter McKenzie & Mary McFarlane. Donald married Margaret Sweeney 8 April 1921 Kirk Newton West Lothian. I do so hope this will be enough as it's all I have I'm afraid. Many thanks for your time & trouble, very much appreciated. Much happiness Debi

Hi Jillian, I would be very grateful if you could find the following for me MARY and JAMES THOM in 1881 SCOTTISH CENSUS. MARY would be about 39, maiden name RATTRAY and I think born in Forfar. Her parents are ROBERT and ISABEL. JAMES would be 4 years younger parents JAMES and MARY. He was a ploughman and she was a domestic servant. I have their marriage cert in 1874 and in 1881 their children were with relatives but can`t find them. Thank you, Rosalyn

Hello Jill, Thank you for your kind offer - I wonder if you might be able to shed some light on a double mystery for me whilst there, re the deaths of fisherman Robert Fairbairn last heard of in Dunbar ELN in 1861 (certainly died before '81); and his son David, a railway guard, who we believe died in a shunting accident between 1887 and 1891. Even just dates/places of death would be a great help, Jill. Kindest regards Gordon

Hello Jillian, Would be very grateful if you could do a look up on the 1871 census for Edinburgh if possible. I am interested in William Ronald age would be about 58/59, occupation House Painter. Wife Elizabeth about the same age. Address as given on his death certificate in 1879 was Hatters Court, Pleasance, Edinburgh. Would really like to find out where he was born, as I can find no trace of his birth on SP or IGI. Thanks Sandra
