my problem is on my Family of Welch, there's on name i can't read properly, this is the family, Richard Welch Head 45 Labourer East Ilsley Berkshire Emily welch Wife 40 West ilsley Berkshire Henry Welch son 18 West isley Berkshire George welch Son 14 Scholar West ilsley Berkshire Nahum Welch Son 10 West ilsley Berkshire looking this person first name) Jesse Welch Son 5 west ilsley Berkshire 67 Village (or could be Cottage) West ilsley, any help appreciated, thanks june |

June, It looks like Narman, but suspect it's supposed to be Norman. Does that sound right to you? Emma. |

June... Definitely NAHUM in 1901! Can't check 1881 original of course. On FreeBMD: Marriages Dec 1881 COLLINS Eliza Wantage 2c 679 Dopson Mary Anne Wantage 2c 679 OWEN Thomas Wantage 2c 679 Welch Nahum Wantage 2c 679 So, it looks as though its NAHUM! |

No worries June. I didn't get an email - do you still want the images, or do you have Ancestry as well? Incidentally, in 1901 he has a son, called Albert Nahum. Must have been a family traditional name! Never heard of it before. Regards, Richard |
