Hi Jacqueline. Keep your chin up and keep searching, It'll happen you see! Don't give up! I was looking for GGGGrandfather for over a year and then it fell in my lap. I'd had it on Documents for at least 6 months, I'd downloaded at the same time with another, that was no help.......... Good Luck Angie. |

Jacqui you say she was born 1889 and Robin says she might have her baptised 1892 which is 3 years after you say she was born, not 7 years before.Do you mean she was born 1899? Steve |

Hi Robin - I appreciate your faith but I cannot, simply cannot, believe that someone was christened 7 years BEFORE she was born - surely she wasn't even a twinkle in her daddy's eye then was she???????? Feeling slight less despondant than I was before - Jacqui |

I have found them christened much further than 7 years. My local vicar is still christening adults. Have faith. |

Hello Robin - thanks for your input. I wish to goodness that this was the right Frances, but the dates dont add up with those on the 1891, 1901, her marriage in 1915 and death cert. in 1932. I have been waiting since Oct. last for a reply to simple questiona from rellies in Canada - who were the parents of Lily (Lillian Kirk) and what was her date of birth (Frances's sister) So far zilch even though I am in e-mail contact with a relative there. I thought if I got this info it would give me another search area to tie in with Frances. This is all part of the great King family you have supplied details of in the past (for which I thank you most gratefully) but unless I can find the right Frances then I am up a gum-tree I think. Any further input would be most gratefully received. Thanks again. a very tired, and dejected Jacqui in Tollerton! |

Hoping against hope. The Notts Baptism Index shows a Frances King Christened at Lenton Parish Church Nottingham 2 March 1892, Father John and Mother Eliza. This is the only Frances born to parents of those christian names in Notts. This may well tie in with the marriage to Elizabeth Ann Bentley 10th May 1890 mentioned above. This Marriage is also on the Notts Marriage Index at St Mathias Church , Sneinton, Nottm |

Hopefully you do find them soon. I've hit lots of brick walls, can't seem to knock them down either. I'd love to hear if you do find Frances King, or her parents. Have you found her sisters births yet? If you find them, then you could get the certificates and find out the maiden name of their mother. |

Thanks for your efforts Chloe, I have seen the entries and I have a feeling that the John King Elizabeth Bentley marriage is possibly the one. I did think however that if I could find Frances King's birth I would be a step nearer. I think that in 1891 she had two elder sisters, Annie and Ada but (and this is the strange thing) she also had a sister called Lily (or Lillian) who went to live in Canada (dont know when and have been trying unsuccessfully to find out her details) I assume that Lily was a younger sister but, if that is the case where is she on the 1901 and why have I not been able to trace her birth either. I'll keep looking, and thanks oncea again for looking for me. Sometimes someone else's eyes see things differently, dont they? Regards Jacqui |

But then, if you John King in the one who's 32 in the 1801 census, then the second one is looking like him. If her parents are the ones who got married in 1890, guessing you'd have to buy certificate to look at profession, then it's possible that she was registered under her mother's maiden name which in this case would have been BENTLEY. Just an idea. I found this in 1881, this Elizabeth A Bentley is a Lace Hand, there was another one, but she was living with her mother and step-father in Newark. If this is the case then there is a: Surname First name(s) Age District Vol Page Births Sep 1889 ---------------------------------------------- BENTLEY Fanny Nottingham 7b 386 But this is from FreeBMD so there maybe more out there. Hi Chloe - sorry forgot to mention I have her on the 1891 also. Her father's occupation was Lace Maker (and this was confirmed on the census of 1891 and on her marriage cert. although he had died by then). I have tried all manner of searches and cannot find her. I dont think the Fanny King in Newark is correct as the family lived totally in the inner Nottingham area all their lives. Thanks for looking though, I appreciate it. I expect I will find her somewhere, someday.............. Jacqui |

I am about to bust a blood vessel - before I do so could someone, please please please, help me find a birth? I have the woman's marriage cert. and her death cert. I have her on the 1901 I even have a photograph of the lady, but I do not have, not have I been able to discover, when she was born. According to Marriage and Death Certs. she should have been born in 1889 in Nottingham (and this ties up with the 1901 Census) and I have scoured the records (3 years both sides of 1889) and cannot find her. Could someone else look with a fresh pair of eyes for FRANCES KING b.1889 Nottingham (mother Elizabeth, father John) I would be so grateful. Jacqui |
