Tracy Thanks for the info on the book you have, I think I've found it on the internet, so I'm going to order it, it will make interesting reading I think. But I find I'm too impatient to wait, to see if three particular families went over, and wondered if you would mind looking in your copy for me? They are KELLY from Edenoughill/Killygordon, MURRAY from Castlederg/Pullyernan and McLaughlin/McLoughlin from Killygordon. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Many thanks. Teresa |

Hi Tracy. Thank you VERY much for your offer. Would there be a John Ovens, born c 1811, parents possibly William and Elizabeth. John's siblings may have been Alexander and Anne. John (sometime before 1843) settled in New Jersey, quite possibly Jersey City. He could have possibly been born in Corcloon, Inishmacsaint, Fermanagh. If I might, would there be a mention of James Mumford, born 1826, Hatfield, (Essex,?) England. He arrived in Canada prior to 1858, possibly as early as 1840. I am just wondering if he took a ship to America first. If your book is not alphabetical, please do not trouble yourself, as I do not have approximate dates of arrival, and I don't even know if James Mumford went straight to Canada. Thank you for your generosity! |

I now have a book which contains irish people travelled to America. Dating from 1811 to 1847. It gives out Passengers name, place of residence, Ship name, date, port of departure and arrival. So if anyone wants me to look it up for you, leave a message here and I'll see if they're listed in here :) Tracy |
