Anyone related to Michael and Maria White (Steiner).
Born C1843 and C1853 respectively.
Had children, Henrietta, Mabel, Maria, Alfred, Lena, Hermon, John, William (1889 My Grandfather).
Apparently they came from Germany and changed their name? that is the story. What the German name is I don't know.
Any help would be appreciated.

Regarding the name change, if it happened ......... I would guess that it might have been Weiss (which means White in English).

The reason why ............ could have been to blend in, racism, or religious problems.

You might want to try some the UK government sites to see if he was naturalized.
