Find Ancestors

I have a marriage cert. of Maryann Jennings married to Frank Wilson dated 1st June 1910 - Married in Bradford in The Parish Church of Saint Peter, Bradford.

Maryann Jennings born 1875 (Bradford???) - her father named as Joshua Jennings (deceased) - farmer. In 1910 (aged 35) Maryann was a Dressmaker living in Leeds Road, Bradford.

Frank Wilson b1881, St Pancras - in 1910 (aged 29) he was an Electric Cable Jointer and his father was William Wilson (Piano Maker) - I have found this information.

I am having trouble finding Maryann's birth record and her father's Joshua.

Can anyone help as I have been trying for months to find this info without success.

I have not found a Mary or Joshua. I thought that I would have found them in the 1881 census - but found nothing at all.

The info you sent on the deaths 1883, 1891 & 1899 could be a lead, but the other 2 1826, and 1853 are too early as she was born in 1875.

The details you have sent me are they from the 1881 census? If so, it does look as if you may have found something. Maybe John called himself "Joshua".

Was the first census 1881 or was it 2 x 1891 that you found?

What is interesting in th 1861 census that there is a Joshua jennings in that one! And yes, the address is interesting as Maryann was living at 9e Leeds Road Bradford when she married Frank, so she was still in the area.

I will print off your findings and have a good search round. It looks like you are have something here. You can search for hours and not get anywhere and after a while it becomes a bit frustrating.

the only mary ann jennings i can find in bfd is the john and mary one, but "john" cant be using the name joshua as hes with margaret.,i think the john is josh's brother. how confusing.

its a pity there are no more census records after 1901 otherwise it might have made more sense as the years went on!

If I search all the Jennings you have found maybe they all might join up somewhere and make sense! Most families around those times often lived quite close to each other so maybe I will find others. Or maybe someone out there could shed a little light on the mysteries of the Jennings family.

the william.john and joshua were on the 1861 cencus are all brothers. john was a butcher on the 1851 and joshua was on later one,and william on the 1861 was an iron moulder which also fits with the cencus when hes married to margaret.they were all in and around leeds rd at points in thier lives, but where the mary ann comes in with joshua?.there is a marriage that could be joshua and margaret but no womans name on the index, typical!
