3 years on & i am still no further forward in my search for information & have no idea how to move forward in my search... if anyone can help me at all i would be extremely grateful :)

Thanks for that, I had come across this family. The problem I have though is until I can find a marriage of Joseph & Annie or maybe the birth of Joseph I cant be sure of exactly who his parents were.

A cooper smith is a barrel maker. We presume Joseph c1847 worked at the docks possibly the East India Docks as that is where his son Joseph b1878 (my g grandfather worked) as a canvas sail maker.

I have made contact with other descendants who belive there may be a connection with Hull or Durham. My grandfather always insisted we were related to Cecil Parkin the cricketer but it could just be wishful thinking.

I have desperately searched for a marriage and birth, does anyone have any idea where i can look now i have been searching for 2 years with no luck.

I think there are just too many possibles on census returns to give much help. Cannot see any sign of a marriage either - frustrating!

There are a lot of possibles for 1871 - several lodgers etc.

This is one possible for 1861 - dad is an "engine hand in a silversmith .... " - wonder whether that's how he ended up in the metal trade ??

1881 image looks like copper smith.

I am desperately searching for the birth and marriage of my gg grandfather Joseph 'Parkin' his 'wife' was Annie Julia Bassett (info from the birth certificate of Joseph Frederick Parkin born 21.02.1878).

I have found his death and info on the following census but i cannot find a birth or marriage. I would like to find siblings and parents.
