i'm trying to find some information about edward sherman born around 1846 maybe in bristol area and had a son named john sherman in 1866 and married hannah collins in april 1895. wouuld be grateful for any information

Yes this is definately the right john sherman and i am trying to find information about his farther edward sherman

It looks as though he was in the Workhouse in Thornbury in 1881 with no sign of parents - They do drive you mad sometimes!!

i have got the marriage certificate of john sherman to hannah collins his fathers name is put as henry sherman{deseased} labourer and it was hannahs father whose name was edward also a labourer as was john when they got married

So its Henry you're looking for

I will look for the family earlier and later in the census but nothing is obvious

Although the age is slightly different I think this could be Hester in 1861 just before her marriage

In 1871 she is listed as born in St Saviour with Southwark added in rough afterwards - This matches with St Saviour but is in Glos
