	I cannot find a marriage registration on www.freebmd.org.uk for a Robert Lowden/Lowdon and an Ann/Annie Gibbins. Where did you get her name from? Is it possible that they did not marry? Is it possible that she was using another name, ie, Gibbins was her maiden name and she had a prior marriage ......... this would mean that she married Robert under the second name. If you do not already have a birth certificate for one of the children, I suggest you obtain one. Thta will tell you the mother's maiden name. 	How wll do you know Cumberland?? Could Harrington be close to Cockermouth? I found the following on the LDS (Mormon) site .... www.familysearch.org. It is an extracted record, which means it has been taken from the parish register. You have to be very wary of Submitted records on that site ... they can be very very wrong! 	so I may well have found the right one??? If so, the census said that parents were both born in Ireland. Name Age James Lowder 4 b.ca 1847, Cockermouth Joseph Lowder 33 b.ca 1818, Ireland Joseph Lowder 7 b.ca 1844, Cockermouth Robert Lowder 10 Sarah Lowder 34 b.ca 1817, Ireland William J Lowder 12 b.ca 1839, Ireland The dates seem to indicate they left Ireland some time between 1839 and 1841. sylvia
