Find Ancestors

Hi i am trying to find out some information on my great grandads side of the family.
His name was Henry William Robert James Tyler

Hi Occupation was a taylor

He married Sarah Caroline Tooker who was born in 1915

They had two Children Derek J F Tyler and Janet Tyler
Derek was born in september 1937 and janet in May 1940

We know he died when he was about 40, and he had two sisters mini and Irelene.

No one knows about his side of the family, his parents e.t.c and further back.

I am searching on BMDs and ancestry but keep drawing a blank Tyler is a common name!!!

My grandad thinks his mothers maiden name could be Parker and that the family are from the Bermondsey, London area

I hope i have given enough information as that is all we have

Wow this is great information everything is correct just gone on the records and now i can find them.

I want to find out more about Eleanor Mills the mother of Henry.

Now we know she was born in 1887 gillingham knent, i would love to trace her parents, i will carry on looking any help would be great

I think Eleanor born 1887 is the wife of Henry not his mother.

Yes that is correct she was the wife of henry, need to know about her parents, cant find her madian name i am still looking though i must be slow at this everyone is finding things so quick, any help would be welcome

Her maiden name was Mills.
Jonesey has posted what looks like her birth registration in 1887
Her parents names would be on that certificate.

Doubtful that James is her father. Probably grandfather to all the children listed in 1901

oh o.k so how do i find out about eleanors parents

All i know is they are called mills,

Any advise while i am searching through records or information

Her birth certificate will tell you.

........and her marriage cert should confirm her father's name too.

aged 14 in 1901 looks like she is with grandparents.

with a bit of luck she may be with parents on 1891 aged 4

that is a bit wierd that she is not living with her parents i n those days something must have happened to her parents interesting i will keep looking

Is that Minnie and Irene or Eileen ?

I am not sure if it is Irene or Eileen i am strugling on the cenus records to find the household where henry is listed with his sisters and then the mother and father (head of Houshold) to confirm that i have the right Eleanor before i look further back,

Any sugestions or information

To be sure you don't follow the wrong family, first of all you need Henry W R J marriage certificate (details posted on page 1)
This will give you his age and father's name.

Then get his birth cert (again posted on page 1) and check the father matches.

His parents marriage cert will give you their ages and fathers and so it goes on.

Someone with access ( sorry I don't) may be kind enough to look up 1891 census for you which may help find Eleanor with parents. .... but make sure Eleanor is HWRJ's mother first.

Eleanors parents were james and mary anne even though they were older.

I fouund records of jame's previos marriage and his former children.

How do you find birth records of people born in 1819, any help would be great as the cenus do not go that far back
