Member Since: December 2002 Posts: 1 Send Message	The history of the Venables family Gilbert de Venables, first baron of Kinderton, was a descendant of the House of Blois and is the common ancestor of all Venables. He assumed the name Venables from his nickname "Venator Abilis", meaning the great hunter, and the town of Venables in Normandy (30m from Rouen) was founded by him and took his name.
