What was John (senior)'s occupation on the marriage certificate please?

Hi I do not have John Snr marriage cert or birth, In fact I am really having trouble as there are so many Vickers in the area.
However his younger son Joseph's marriage cert states his fathers profession a Lead Miner.
Joseph was the Postmaster in Westgate from around 1890 but I have no idea what happen to his elder brother John or his father of the same name who died when the boys were very young.

There won't be a birth cert for John Senior as it was before 1837.

Taking into account when the children were born it should be easy to narrow it down.

Thanks for that I have heard from a local historean that both Johnand his father John snr died in the late 1850's so will now try to get hold of the certificates.

Does anyone know anything about Martha E Vickers born Sunderland in 1885 the illegitamate daughter of John Vickers b 1855 Westgate.
On the 1891 census she was living with John's brother Joseph and thier mother Hannah in the Post office in Westgate I have been told they adopted her when her father emigrated to Boston but can't find any other trace of her.
