Descendants of the Vincent family only required. Not a lot of information but any (modern) family of Winifred Vincent would be great.

You came up trumps again for me. I know from a photograph that Winnie had a brother called Roy.

I need to get some photos back to this family if there are still descendants out there - how do I find out? I do not live even close to Dorset or the south coast.

I know from my own experiences with families that photographs are precious.

Many thanks for your swift reply to such an 'obscure' request.

Hello GreatArtuin - if you could find out the local paper for that area (probably via google) then they may be willing to carry a small article, or even have a family history page.

Thanks - I think that is a good idea to try. Google usually come up with some amazing search results.

Thanks everyone

I am sure I will be able to track down the Vincent family if there are any surviving descendants.

Our local newspaper does have a 'history' page so I know from experience that there are some success stories, just hadn't thought of that aspect myself.

Again, thanks. What great 'Community' boards, I am sure folks must be most grateful for your help. I know I am.

LadyKira

That's wonderful. Must be someone belonging to this family still around. I think my best course of action is to use the information you have given me and track them down in the same area. Obviously the girls maybe will have married names but I can use the newspaper facility (if this exists) or the local area reference library. Not sure if all areas have this. But I am confidant now to try all the avenues suggested.

What a great bunch you all are!

You are great.

had no reply from Echo email I sent - not even a confirmation of receipt. I am not sure if they are 'allowed' to do this under the Freedom of Information Act. Going to try again with another section of this newspaper.

If you have no further success with the newspaper, give me a nudge - I know someone that works there who would know, hopefully, the right person to contact.
