Hi, I'm searching for information on my great grandfather, John Waddington who was married to my Great Grandmother, Esther Ann Waddington (nee Woodhouse). They lived on Lord Derby Street in Blackburn. He died 5th September in 1958. Their 7 surviving children were Doris, Gladys, Elizabeth (Bette), Mary (Molly), Raymond, William(Billy) and Rose, although I believe that there may be another brother in Canada or America (secret). they also had at least 1 set of twins who either died at birth or when vwry young. John had several brothers and sisters, mainly from Blackburn. They were Henry (Harry), who owned the Prince of Wales Pub on Park Road, Richard (Dick), Mary (Polly), Amelia, Evelyn (Lily) and twins Rose and William. William was a minister and Rose died on 5th September 1959 - the day I was born. Rumour has it that the family goes way back to the original Waddingtons of Waddington Hall. Any help would be brill!! |
