Just because it doesn't say deceased on the marriage certificate, don't assume that he is still alive. I am sure that many of us have certs which seem to suggest the father is alive, when we know for sure he isn't. When asked what is your fathers name and occupation? The answer would be given, but unless they were specifically asked if he was still alive, some children missed the point.
When you say "i cant find the census i printed of.", what do you mean?

hi many thanks for info, the 1901 census thats not my Sarah as she should have been down as Warman mother in law. that Sarah Brown must have been Nehemiah mother. some thing i didnt now was the 2 possible other children but that sound right if the mothers name is down as Warman. still at a loss of how to find a death date for Thomas can only think he left Sarah and moved to where there was work as hes down as a labourer on the 1891 census. but even then hes should be down some where as a death. on the 1901 i found Sarah Warman widow down as a visitor at 66, Upper North Street Poplar London. thanks again

I think it is highly likely that Sarah on the 1901 census that Andrew posted is your Sarah. The relationship is to the head of the house.
Last year on an electral roll I listed my daughter (who was married but seperated and back home) with her maiden name. So mistakes happen.

thank you all for your help, will now print all the info of and go through it . Sarah was born in 1838 as i have her birth certificate as i neaded that to find out her maiden name which was Taylor. so if she died in 1907 would make her 69. only way to find out is to send for her death certificate and hope for the best. i may have to do the same with Thomas find one death date and hope for the best that its him isnt it funny how you get stuck on one person, yet i found details about an ancestor on my husbands side quite easy. also found details for a cousin about birhs, deaths, marriages. but one of my own still remains a mystery. thanks again

just thought ide bring you up to date with a death date for Thomas Warman. got his certificate the other day and he died on 7th October 1929 aged 84 so can at last draw a line under Thomas. he died in a nursing home from an ulcer on his face. just seems funny to me that the 1901 census has his wife Sarah down as a widow. the informant on the death certificate was H F Bacon daughter which is right as he only had 1 daughter Hephzibah Florence who married a Nememiah Bacon in 1899. so i got there at last. thanks for all the help you have given me
